“In September 1994, a conference in Pushchino "evolutionary approach and the problems of transition economy", was organized by the Institute of Economics and the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS. It was attended, apart from Russian scientists from Britain, the Netherlands, the United States, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and other countries. Presentations at the conference reflected a growing interest in the evolutionary economic theory in Russia. They clearly suggest the rejection of neoclassical theory, as well as skepticism about the strategy of a shock therapy…”
